At Maokwo, women's social issues are at the heart of what we do. These come as lived experiences and first hand real life events of women ,migrants, refugees and asylum seekers and artists from migrant backgrounds are the heartbeat of what we do, who we are.

And thus Maokwo has created the Mbereko project a space for women seeking refuge, women who have been granted refuge in the United Kingdom, especially in Coventry and the Midlands.
